I wanted to do all my own lesson plans from scratch and create a binder that had all the information I managed to store in my head at my fingertips. Boy, what a mistake. The Backseat Pilot is way better than I could have ever done on my own, and not only that, but I'm learning more with each lesson than I would have if I had done it on my own. This is THE MOST AMAZING training purchase I have ever made. Thank you Backseat Pilot!
I'm so glad to hear it, Jeff! Thank you so much! Expect an update to the MEI lessons along with the new MEI ACS PowerPoints in a few days, followed by another update to the CFI content to clean up and add to the new Risk Management content shortly after. Feel free to pass along any suggestions as you make your way through the content. Thanks again!
So glad i purchased Backseat Pilot over any of the others! each page is fully editable and the Condensed version is the best. I still reworded some and took out some info just to streamline a bit more but having that option is PERFECT! Get this and be a great informed CFI!!!
Yes! That's exactly the goal. Edit the content as needed (or don't) and you're good to go. I'm so glad to hear it's working out so well! Thanks, Jamie!
Very in depth, mostly follows ACS, but extremely repetitive. Seems like AI made it. It would be nice if it had a clean user friendly summary to jump from section to section of the ACS. Also missing a ton of references - it’s helpful to show each area in the study guide where you can find the answer (FAR/AIM, PHAK, ACs, etc). Helpful but too long and repetitive so 3 stars.
Save your money. There’s free ones of better quality available.
Thanks, Tyler. Sadly, repetitiveness is the nature of a lot of the ACS tasks, especially the Risk management sections (no AI at all, I promise). The good news is that the plan is to combine all the repetitive risk management information into a single document for each section and link the lessons to it, like we did in the new CFI & MEI ACS content. That should cut down on a lot of the overkill and still cover everything required in each task.
As for the summary to jump between sections, it’s already built in! In Word, use the Navigation Pane, and in Adobe and other PDF readers, use the contents window or drop down. You can quickly jump between sections, and individual tasks rather than scrolling through the document.
I totally agree that the references should be included. It will take some time to complete, but that’s on the list of additions to improve the ACS Reviews & the CFI lesson plans. Thanks again for the input!
Great product, really detailed and easy to access information on everything you need to know as a CFI.
